LYNDON - The Vermont Student Assistance Corporation, or VSAC brought their 14th annual College Pathways Fair to Lyndon State College Last Night. Students from around northern Vermont and New Hampshire came out to visit recruiters from schools from all over the country.
The mix of ages was very diverse as well, ranging from high school under classmen, all the way to seniors. Schools varied from local college's such as Lyndon and Johnson State, to the University of Alabama and Rutgers University.
The event also had a handful of guest speakers who gave their input on how to select from colleges and other options, including Caledonia County Senator, Jane Kitchel. Of course, It is stressed how helpful the event can be, especially considering it did not cost anything for students and their families to attend. VSAC President, Scott Giles, stressed how important it is to the foundation to help these students and maybe take some of the stress of the college application process off.
"Our hope is that we will show them all the tools that they will need to make good decisions, and that maybe we can take a little bit of the fear out of the process", Giles said.
The next College Pathways Fair will be on April, 11, starting at 9:30 AM at Castleton State College, in Castleton, Vermont.
