ST. JOHNSBURY – This past weekend the vehicles at Twin State Ford were filled with donated teddy bears, dolls and more. All of the donations are going to end up in "Santa’s Sleigh."
ST. JOHNSBURY- A fundraiser is happening at the Kindom Taproom in St. Johnsbury with 100% of the proceeds raised going toward Habitat for Humanity in the Northeast Kingdom.
SAINT JOHNSBURY – Water, sewage and road repairs are about to come to Frost Avenue. At last night’s Selectboard meeting, members spoke extensively about the projects that will impact some residents along the street.
ST. JOHNSBURY- The Community Restorative Justice Center is need of almost 70 volunteers to spend a year helping recently incarcerated citizens find their footing again and to live a crime free life. Volunteers are an important aspect of this program as the center relies on them to work with high-risk offenders. According to Executive Director, Susan Cherry; the main goal of having the volunteers work with them for a year is to help Vermonters feel safer, and to help the former inmates find their place after leaving jail.
St. Johnsbury- Around 3:15pm Sunday afternoon, a trooper from the Vermont State Police St. Johnsbury barracks struck another vehicle in East St. Johnsbury while responding to a domestic dispute call.
ST. JOHNSBURY- Controversy over St. Johnsbury's leash laws have sparked after an incident that left ten beloved birds dead. For the past eight months, Philip Aldridge and Nicole Daigneault have been raising chickens and ducks but this all changed when a neighbor's dog got loose and killed some of them.

A few months ago, police officers in saint Johnsbury started a program where they would greet students in the morning as they arrived at the ST. Johnsbury town school.
ST. JOHNSBURY- Former Vermont State Representative Bob South was in Caledonia County Court early Thursday morning to accept a plea deal. South pled guilty to disorderly conduct and also violating conditions of release.
ST JOHNSBURY- St. Johnsbury Police Department’s K-9 , Bodie has received a vest that will protect him from stab and bullet wounds while he’s on patrol. This vest was a result of fundraising from the Groupon Grassroots Campaign for Vested interest in K9’s incorporated; which has raised over $335,000 for law enforcement k9 ballistic vests.
St. JOHNSBURY - A discussion involving poor water pressure at Monday night’s selectboard meeting gained even more precedence after another water main break occurred this morning on Portland Street. With the rupture this morning, Saint Johnsbury has seen five this year.
ST. JOHNSBURY - Since late last spring, Chad Whitehead has served as the town manager of St. Johnsbury. Whitehead stepped into the role after several turbulent years for the select board - and the town - that included a lengthy hiring process for the job.

ST. JOHNSBURY – Homelessness in Vermont has been an ongoing problem, and for the twelfth year in a row, the Northeast Kingdom Youth Services did their part to help. Members of the community took to the streets on Saturday in St. Johnsbury to raise awareness and money for homeless youth.

Second Hand Smoking which is the act of inhaling smoke from burning tobbacco or a smoker who's smoking and is around you which just might be as harmful as one who is smoking directly.A movement and campaign led by different health organizations is spreading all over the country and coming to the NorthEast Kingdom to not only educate the dangers of smoking but to also encourage conversations regarding this matter.
St. Johnsbury- Many towns in the state are scrambling to meet the new requirements under Vermont's Act 46: If a school district has under 900 students, they must consolidate with nearby schools.
St. Johnsbury- The Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital is fighting back and appealing the budget made by The Green Mountain Care Board. The budget the board granted the hospital is over one million dollars less than what was requested.
ST. JOHNSBURY – The Passumpsic River is getting a cleanup, thanks to the Riverfront Revitalization Committee. River cleanups have been taking place all summer, and the changing temperatures did not stop volunteers from getting into the cooling waters this past weekend.

ST. JOHNSBURY- Husband, father, and son to a 1960's civil rights activist and Hartland farm owner, Matt Dunne has begun his campaign for governor in the 2016 primary early. Dunne held a community forum Wednesday night at the Catamount Arts center as part of his campaign to test the waters in Vermont.
ST. JOHNSBURY - Despite concerns that the St. J. Food Co-Op would close in early September, the doors are open and it's business as usual – with a twist. The co-op and members of the community have teamed up for a fundraiser in an effort to keep the store alive.
